Great to see this getting so much research. The 2 tons of mercury contain in the CFL's sold so far is a significant sum, but it is in a contained source allowing it to be recycled. The 50 tons from the coal plants is out in the ether, polluting our lakes and making fish essentially inedible at game fish size.

Finally hard numbers to pull some wind from the "lamers" sails on why not to buy a hybrid. Compare that to transmission replacements of 90's Dodges and it comes out smelling roses.

It has been a LONG time since I got excited by a Road/Track spy shot update. This info jives with a conversation I had with a sales manager at Toyota this week. Looks like the sedans are getting close to my Insights mileage -I may be ready to add 2 more doors.

Finally starting to see real life prototypes of diesel hybrids! Combine the 30% more efficient diesel with the 50%-100% more efficient hybrid (and make it a plug in PLEASE!) and you have real solutions that still seat 5 adults in a "normal" car.

A Co-Gen CAr? Sign me up! As a driver of an Insight I disagree with the "even par" statement about highway driving -I get 80+mpg at 65mph and 100+ at 45mph. If I could be recharging my batteries with a co-gen I would be in hog heaven. GIVE ME THIS TECHNOLOGY HONDA!

Another site promoting Green Community. I prefer more practical sites like Wiser Earth, as Tree Hugger and Plenty have the Green E-Zine scene running well. That said an eco minded site on the scale of myspace could change the world. We'll see how this one does.

NEV's are uber cool. Neighboorhood Electric Vehilces. Zero emmisions (if you have Green Energy in your home), decent range and top speeds in the 30-35mph range make them realistic for city cars. think of them as uber clean 4 set/season mopeds. Pricing on these here is about $10k. Great to see these coming to Wisconsin!
